The tour goes on
Last summer we started a project for fun during the pandemic, Covid19-tour, which means visiting all the medieval churches in our county. We did not have time for all the churches before they closed for the season, so we can have fun this summer as well. The pandemic is not over and in addition, my husband's immune system deficiency means that we must stay away from people this year as well. But we can visit churches, because it is very rare that we come across anyone else there.
We visited a small church with the fun name Littlechurch church (tautology). A cute church that my husband started taking photos of too, not just me.
Extra: Remains of old 13th century paintings were seen on the walls. Surely it looks like the finger is raised a little warning, like "do not blow in that horn!"
Second extra: Another church, but equally wonderful paintings, this time from the 16th century, when an addition was made to the church. The king in his castle looking at the princess with her lamb. It is not a biblical scene but part of the legend of Saint George and the dragon.
Third extra: Another nice 13th century painting. The text says: "Magnus drew me". So funny that the last letters did not fit, but the painter drew them underneath. I love discoveries like this in the churches. Everything was not perfect, but wonderful nonetheless.
