Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

The morning after....

That was quite a storm yesterday and although there is a yellow warning for today as well it seems to have passed us by thank goodness. With water over a foot deep in parts of town yesterday, roads impassible and many homes flooded, when you see street drains filled with silly and grit like the one in my blip you have to wonder if there is a connection. As for our new billion pound shopping centre...... , you'd think part of the brief in Scotland would be to make it water tight!
Enough, time to move on. I have reported the drain btw.
I managed to get some exercise first thing today which was just as well as things turned out. Marvin went to visit his other granny and I tried to do some packing, re packing and organising for going away on Thursday.
I went to Ali's scan with her this afternoon which was exciting and a chance to say hallo to the new grandchild, due in September, so well on the way now.
I reached a milestone in my Duolingo having a 1300 day streak. My cousin in Sheffield has a lot to answer for, she's the one who introduced me to it. That's many hours of my life I won't get back again.
Stay safe and well everyone, its sounds like there's going to be a miracle in England on the 18th of July. I truly hope there is. I fear though that what there is going to be is a huge surge in all the places tourists go to when they are having their staycations - not to mention what will come back in on the flights from overseas.
