Boom and Bust

Thought I should show at least one pic of the Alice scenery whilst I'm still here. There was supposed to be many more :(

This is looking across the Mighty Todd River which is almost permanently dry (even says so on the map!). So to see it flow is pretty special. Having said that I moved here during the 'boom' cycle of the desert. It was more like the green centre than the red centre. I saw the Todd flow a few times although rarely from bank to bank. Alice is now well and truly into the 'bust' cycle and I've never seen it so dry out here.

This time tomorrow night I'll be in Singapore. A bit surreal and trying not to think about it.
