Aberdeenshire puffin
I adore puffins and still have my Puffin Club badge, somewhere. After a leisurely and sunny drive along the Angus coast and beyond we met son #2 for a fish supper and in the pouring rain he took me to see the puffins at Bullers of Buchan. Apparently there were far more than he had seen last time, and we had it to ourselves. I suspect the rain had driven them ashore earlier in the evening.
Earlier we had stopped off at Catterline. The extra blip might be the cliff cottage where Joan Eardley spent the last years of her short life.
Our hotel room overlooks the harbour in Boddam, and if you stick your head out you can see Peterhead Prison in the distance.
