Slime

Didn't have to go far for this one, a beautiful slime mould has appeared on the back fence. I will be able to watch it develop over time. Its a whopper too, at least 40cm long. My photo is just one end of it (with a handy fly for scale). I will try to get a confirmed id. At the moment I'm going with Coral slime mould (Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa) as a best guess.
