RIPON CATHEDRAL

For so many years I have passed through Ripon but always on the way to somewhere else, so this afternoon is was a real treat at last to be able to visit the Cathedral there. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined, but my photos did not do the stained glass windows or lofty columns justice. I was rather taken by these steps though.

And after that thoroughly good start to the weekend we have just had a superb meal at the hotel in Masham. And now to bed, and I think I shall sleep very well.
