Gerbera

A brief trip into town this morning to buy some patchwork fabric. As I walked up the road from Cowcaddens subway station I spotted this bright red Gerbera growing in a planter which was mainly filled with weeds and greenery.

I always think of a florist's arrangement or bunches for sale in the supermarket ...... today in the Garnethill area of Glasgow, for me, was a first sighting of one those stunning daisy-like flowers in the earth.
