A long and warm day
We set off at 10 this morning to drive up to Calgary near the north end of the island, via the scenic west coastal route. This is a very beautiful road, very tortuous, single track with passing places, so the driver, me, can't afford to take his eyes off the road for a second! From today's panoramic Blip - we arrived at the coast behind the two peninsulas on the right - then drove along the invisible road all the way along the coast until out of sight on the left, then all the way along the coast this side. We stopped for a picnic lunch at this point, then continued along the coast to visit Lucy's wonderful garden at Lip na Cloiche, then to Calgary (part of the beach is my extra today) where we had a look at the wonderful flower meadows owned by Blipper Treshnish. Saw my first small white orchid - Pseudorchis albida.
Arrived back at Bunessan at 7.15 - around 110 miles almost all on single track roads! It was wonderful, but I don't think I could live there!
