Birdbath RELIEF!

I saw this Blue Jay settle into the birdbath in the beastly hot weather today. Instead of splashing, he just stayed with his wings spread wide and his beak following suit. I snapped a photo through the window. As time went by, I began to worry because he was motionless in such an odd position. The heat we are experiencing is extreme for June, so many are suffering, but it is far worse on the Pacific Coast. I did open the door and was relieved that he flew off normally. He did leave with a cooler 'under carriage' from his soak in the cool granite birdbath.

For the Record, 
This day came in hot and humid. We're not as hot as the Pacific Coast, but this is very hot for June.
