I was attempting to correct this project, both by making different legs and by making them smaller as I worked out they were going to be far too big. Kate the sewer of perfect clothes says the most important bit is accurate cutting. I laughed to myself as I hacked them all about willy nilly but the end result, shockingly enough is nearly a pair of trousers. That fit me! I cocked up the waist band then so have left that for another day.

And gardening leave, the gift that keeps on giving, I’ve watched loads of Wimbledon today. And the Tour de France. What a lovely summer it is.
