Invited to read her poems

S was invited to read at an 'event' in Ponsonby. It was a one hour session mid-afternoon. Anita, another writer, began, reading some of the flash fiction she has had published. She is also a poet and read one or two of her poems. Then came a mother and daughter, the daughter looks about seven or eight years old. Mother played the piano and between the two pieces she played, the daughter read from a book they jointly wrote and have had published.

The last was S who read a number of her poems. Mr H and Young L arrived just before Anita started; S had chosen a poem which she dedicated to the boys (rapidly becoming young men). It was an answer (my word) to John Bukowski's advice to young men.

My photo was taken as she was finishing introducing herself. Behind her and to the right is a book called 'Street Logos', which is a book of street art (also called Graffiti Art). For $16 I bought it and the boys were both interested in it as well, so it well become a well-thumbed book.
