A celebratory drink

Well I’ve submitted my recording for my exam.!! After a restless night we went into the school where my husband works to have a good acoustic and a quiet space. I have to say the whole experience was nerve wracking and exhausting and after two takes of the programme (4 long pieces / 20 mins playing) we decided the first was, on balance, the better of the two. And if I’d been in the traditional exam situation I would only have got one crack at it. Anyway it’s done. I have to stop going over in my head and just accept it’s done while I await my mark. I know I won’t have failed it but of course I want to get a decent score:

It took me a while to calm down and stop stressing over it. This has been a long burn project for me and it means a lot - 34 years since I took my grade 7!! My husband was a great calming influence as ever. We stopped off at our local craft beer place for a drink - a beer flight for him to thank him for his amazing piano accompaniment and support - and a Chai Latte for me. I have gradually relaxed as the day has gone on and we watched some football and had dinner outside.

What a day. I’ve done it. I should sleep well tonight.
