Had a good walk today up Croy Hill. First of all we went along the pathway to see the Roman Centurian Helmet (see extra) and then climbed up the hill. Not particularly high, but a bit of a slog nevertheless, but we are definitely getting fitter. On the top the HG spotted the wild orchid in the extra..... I think it is a Greater Butterfly-Orchid (Plantanthera chlorantha) .... there was only one and I was pleased he spotted it.
Quite a few people had the same idea as us, and we had quite a few chats on the way. One girl was having hip problems and I was able to give her some encouragement as she is awaiting an op.
And home to Saturday night steak dinner! All good!
