Gone!
The mighty Elm trees that dominated our landscape for thousands of years was decimated in the 70’s with the dreaded Dutch Elm Disease. Our farm like so many others had at one time some magnificent specimens of these beautiful trees. However Elm do still grow but they rarely reach any size before the succumb to the disease.
This is just the situation we are dealing with today as three of the Elm at the end of both our gardens have now died. I believe that there may well be a resistant strain that has been developed and I am on the case.
Marcus arrived with chainsaw in hand and made a very good job in quite a tricky spot . Ably assisted by Mr Tbay Jn they were all down and hauled away by tea time.
Another JPS team member has tested positive and also their Mum. I have a proper test booked for tomorrow. My lateral flow test I did today was negative which is good.
I am busy painting again. Windows upstairs are my current project. This could take some time!!
