toxic beauty

My neighbor recently planted this Delphinium and now it is beginning to bloom. I've always loved the beautiful blue color and elegant stalks. But much to my surprise I learned that these plants are toxic! Not only will they make you sick if you eat them, but they can irritate your skin if you touch them. Obviously not the kind of flower to put into a bouquet.
