Fiddlers on the Roof

The solar panel installation began this week. Three young men with plenty of energy climbed up and down the ladder installing the base posts and metal beams, then carrying up these 50-pound panels. The extra shows the posts, beams, and installed panels.

This system is more sophisticated than the solar panel system we had installed on our other Portland home in 2011. With this new system, the panels contain a chip that enables the system to communicate with Portland General Electric, and to also communicate with our cell phones through the app.

Another heatwave is coming our way again! I'm so glad we have air conditioning.
