There’s Always One!
Another full day. We visited Boulmer before heading up to Seahouses for a trip to the Farne Islands. This was notable because we were the first members of the public to land since the start of the pandemic. Unfortunately the Arctic Terns seem to have abandoned Inner Farne, so I didn’t get the chance to photograph them at close quarters. Puffins, on the other hand, were very amenable, and there were good numbers of Sandwich Terns (extras). We then went to a spot on the beautiful Embleton bay where there were Arctic Terns but too far away to photograph. We also saw a much rarer Black Tern.
