A Floral Day

I did a spot of filling and gluing and filling ang gluing again on a piece of wood this morning and then went for a walk after dropping a package in the post box.
My intention was to get some shots of the wild orchids in the 'protected area'  next to the playing fields.
I think I saw 2.
The problem is the area was seeded with the same grass as the playing fields and is left uncut which means the grass is far to dense in its growth. Before the area was 'protected' it was cut two or three times a year and there were hundreds of orchids, so the Council have once again got it wrong with their protection and encouragement of nature.
(The self seeded orchids in my garden are doing much better.)
What there is is carpets of buttercups.

Although I titled this a floral day a feather sneaked in and it was actually the cuckoo spit that was the subject in this one. There are 2 or 3 other shots over there too.
