La vida de Annie

Feeling blue....

...but not sure why. The sun's out, and after all the rain the garden's packed with growing things, mainly weeds unfortunately.

Maybe I'm worried about #2 son, who's doing an X-factor audition today. #2 daughter + boyfriend took him to Old Trafford, Manchester football ground, at the crack of dawn, where he joined the longest queue imaginable while they went off to try to park. When they returned they found they were not allowed to join him in the queue, which was not due to start moving until 10am, 3 hours later. Poor chap, stuck there all that time. He only started singing a year ago, but had his heart set on doing this. I'm just worried those stroppy judges will lower his confidence with their humiliating comments - I just hate the whole thing, and never watch it anyway. Showbiz is 5% talent and 95% luck, with a dollop of who you know thrown in for good measure, as we've discovered through #2D's acting. Oh well, fingers crossed - not just that he'll get through especially, but that he survives the ordeal unscathed.

***Update*** He didn't get through and he's beating himself up about it, saying he's a rotten singer (not true). He had to queue for 7 hours and then sing unaccompanied in front of 1000s of auditionees and their friends, in the middle of the stadium. Those who don't get through get a big cross on a board for all to see. #2D and bf are taking him for something to eat now and to try to cheer him up. I was hoping it would be a more positive experience for him even if he wasn't successful. It must have taken a lot of bottle to do it and I'm proud of him for that.
