Between the rain

I popped to the allotment first thing this morning - to drop off our composting materials. The recent warmth and now rain, has stimulated things to grow and some plants now look recovered from our unusual spring weather. Others are still obviously stunted or lacking flowers/fruiting buds.

One thing I particularly like at the allotment are the flowers, like these poppies, which have been left to self seed and proliferate along paths, on compost heaps and amongst the beds of vegetables.

A very wet dog walk before dinner but it didn’t stop Merlin leaping around amid the tall grasses and daisies. He wasn’t so keen on being dried down when he got home!
