The wonky path to true love perhaps ?

Our evening walk on our usual route . What creatures of habit we are becoming !
To the left the fields were vibrant with swathes of golden buttercups glowing in the evening sunlight . To the right the fields were ablaze with sorrel reddened by the low rays of the late sun , they were just at the perfect angle to highlight the rosy hues.

My eye was caught by the wonky shadow travelling up the lane to my two companions .

A pleasant walk , as it usually is , having spent the day in the green gym soaking up the sunshine .

I took some time out to sit in the sun and finish the most excellent book I’ve been reading . “How to stop time,” by Matt Haig . Very readable, an imaginative story but with layers that provoke you to think about all sorts . It has a both a historical and a psychological perspective, fascinating.
The Guardian review says of Matt Haig that
“At their most moving his novels reveal the unbearable beauty of ordinary life . “ It’s true and it caused me to cry in parts .
I would really recommend his books if you are looking for a new author .
Tonight’s bedtime reading will have the be the New Scientist, we got a cheap 3 months subscription and I am already behind . ( nothing new there ! )
Tomorrow we have another day that we are free to spend in the green gym , feel so lucky to have this time to enjoy the weather and to be outside . I had a long walk and talk last night with my friend and ex teaching colleague Alison . With the new head teacher in place and Covid everything has changed and my gratitude to have been able to escape grows .
Hope that those of you on your holidays are having a wonderful time and that those of you at home are enjoying all that this season brings .
