Just a short stroll around the park this morning. Everywhere was so green and peaceful, just me and the birdsong. A much fresher day today and a lovely breeze that rippled through the long grass...

According to the weatherman, only 23 degrees today, but according to the thermometer on the patio 27 degrees at lunchtime. Beginning to doubt my thermometer. Discovered my tomato plants have become infested with black fly, but that’s a job that will have to wait until tomorrow...

Hot nights + very early morning light + noisy jackdaws = very little sleep = no energy
