The bar was busy today

I had ( earlier  in the day ) mentioned to the husband that I have net seen more than a few bees of any kind so far this year. They were't  even in the catmint which usually draws a crowd. Till about an hour after I said that. Then there were a couple of bumbles, several honeybees zipping in and out , an unidentified bee slightly smaller than the honeybees , and a few sweat bees.! A bonanza! ( no not the old TV western). but today it is the honeybee because husband creature liked it.
 The extra is a possibly  a beetle but I haven't been able to find out what it is. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have figure out if I should squash it or not.There are also some beetles on my hydrangeas and Ihaven't been able to get a good look at them. I have a feeling the rust appearing on the leaves is courtesy of them . And the Japanese beetles aren't even out yet. Sigh.
I need to post this , throw a few treats and the cat and flea over . Long day tomorrow. Again.
