Things I learned today
Today I learned
- there are some cicadas with white or blue or grey eyes. They're fine, it is just a natural variation.
- the next Air Force One will cost at least $5.3 BILLION (it is over budget). Our current ones are three decades old. The new ones will be longer, wider, more fuel-efficient, but can't be refueled while flying. It is over schedule and expected in 2025. Boeing blames Covid related supply and labor disruptions.
- the UK has/will have a spaceport which sounds very cool and means it will be a place to launch satellites using a horizontal launcher, the only spaceport in Europe. It may offer spaceflight.
- Cornwall is cool.
- Viking King Hans had a crazy sophisticated constructed warship/floating castle, Gribshunden. He had cannons, crossbows, AND rifles.
- we have a crazy uptick in people behaving very badly on planes. Forget viruses, it is the humans.
- it isn't that hard to do the British pound sign on an iPad.
- Russian scientists revived a 42,000 year old worm but I have no idea why they thought this was a good idea.
