Diary of an Edinburgher

More sofas!

JR’s morning gym session, and I did a bit of ironing, which did not require much effort. And I watched the Trooping of the Colour,  always a fine spectacle. But once Archie had gone off with Elizabeth, we set off to peruse sofas in a large sofa shop. We’d been there last time we did a sofa search, as it has a huge selection.

I remembered it being quite far away - we drove there last time, but I was persuaded that, in fact, it wasn’t too far to walk. Which it wasn’t. Though I was puggled and had to sit a couple of times.

We narrowed the choice down to three styles, and several choices of material, samples of which will be sent to us, but it was a successful visit.

In fact, the sofa shop is right next door to the Athletic Arms pub - ‘The Diggers’, so called because it’s right next to the cemetery. We had a half of lager and a bag of crisps and watched a bit of EUROS football. This revived me somewhat until we got to Bruntsfield, where we had a coffee and scone sitting in the sun.

A most pleasant, fruitful day.

AND I wore my new shoes all day and they were OK (ish)…
