13. Sound: Sound is a hard one to shoot, can you do it? What's something you heard today?

This may look quiet, but in reality there was noise all around.

Just out of sight to the right were 7 men building a gate to our Estate which will stop Hannibal and Elephants crossing over. The struts of the gates are 20 ft long girders.

To my left, a sky lark was singing away merrily in the sky. My dad used to walk with me in the field in front of our house, and point the sky larks to me, and we would watch as they dropped suddenly from the sky, to a point directly below them, and then run frantically across the grass to their hidden, grass holey.

Beyond the Skylark was a little jet plane. I'm not sure what he was up to today - he was circuits and bumps, but he wasn't bumping down, and he completely bombing it as he soared away from the runway again.

I could hear cars driving along the by-pass, and then I could hear the recording they play at the airport before a "proper" plane comes in , which is a mix of birds in distress - I don't think they are "mating calls". that would just make them all chase towards the airport.

I don't think that I could hear the water, but I like to think I could. I am probably a little farther away from the water than i am at my house, in the summer, I can hear the sound of the waves when they are all stirred up when the ferry comes in.

And finally, I could hear laughing, of children - there is a Primary School a mile up the road, and the wind was blowing in the right direction for me to catch their laughs as they played outside at lunchtime.
