Ancient woodland

We called in at Sherwood Forest on the way up to visit former blipper, Bundle. I was surprised how small Sherwood Forest now is. We did the longest walk through the woods and it was only four miles.The tree I have chosen to blip has lost its main trunk but even the side shoots must be very old. The Major oak is around 1000 years old and it is amazing to think that it was there before the Norman conquest.
