Change of Scenery

Decided on a trip to Scarborough this afternoon and headed to the Holbeck car park on Sea Cliff Road for a walk down to the beach with views of South Bay and the castle. Centre stage is the relatively new lifeboat station.

Fortunately we were on the quieter side and didn’t progress any further than the Spa as the beach looked busy. We about faced and returned through the South Cliff Italian Gardens. A lot of work has been undertaken to try and stabilise the slope which has been prone to slippage. The Holbeck Hall Hotel collapsed in a landslide in 1993.

We thought there might be a refreshing breeze so took light fleeces. However it was still very warm so they were left in the car.

Well worth the half hour journey to get there.
