Wing and a Prayer

In the ruins of Leiston Abbey, near Sizwell, local artist Arabella Marshall installed a stained glass work called "Wing and a Prayer" in 2020. The ruins are part of the Chapel of the 12th century abbey, which was pulled down in 1363 and rebuilt further inland to protect it from the sea. It was the site of the Battle of Solebay in 1672 and then converted into a coastal defence position during the 1940s. It has been part of the Minsmere nature reserve since 1947.
