Black Sheep

G and I went for a lovely wander around Hindingham Hall gardens this morning. Full sun and hot, with lots of damselflies, dragonflies, wonderful flowers, the sound of a cuckoo and these cute black sheep. I've also added a collage of photos as an Extra. In other years we've gone later in the Summer, but the garden were more wonderful in late Spring. Later I sat out for a while reading, but too hot really, so I returned to the tennis.

There were 7.540 new cases today, the highest number since 26th Feb and up 74% from a week ago. Prof Neil Ferguson from Imperial College says that new modelling suggests the risk of 'a substantial third wave' depending on vaccine effectiveness, with an R rate of 1.5-1.6. An ONS study reports that 8 in 10 people are believed to have coronavirus antibodies from the virus or vaccination, although it's not known how much this affects the chance of catching the virus. Over a million people booked a jab through the NHS website on Tues, a record and good to see younger people keen to get the vaccine. Evidently ONS figures in March showed 16-24s made up 61% of those who lost payrolled employment during the pandemic. A judge has ruled that the Govt broke the law by giving a £0.5m coronavirus contract to an associate of ministers and of Dominic Cummings.
