Good catch

Quite a day

This morning we  travelled from Melton Mowbray to Kent, a surprisingly quiet journey. We stopped in Sevenoaks to do a bit of shopping, then had to fit all our luggage etc. into the back of the car, as we made room for three passengers.

We had instructions, but it was still quite an adventure picking up each of the three girls from their three schools, several miles apart around Sevenoaks. Finding the schools and then hoping we were at the right place where they would be waiting was quite tricky. We did it. Extra 1 is Grandad’s photo of the three of them on the bench outside Tesco where Alice, the eldest, usually waits.

Then we took them into Sevenoaks and had tea in Zizzi’s.

Arriving with them back home, we did not stay long, but there was time for a little ball practice in the lane outside their house. Maisie, the middle granddaughter to the left of the photo, has just been accepted in the Junior section of a local Netball Club. She had two trials, is really pleased to have got through and is looking forward to her first game on Saturday. Grandad was very keen to have a go with the new Netball, but he was accused of sometimes trying to play Rugby. I wouldn't know the difference, apart from the shape of the ball. 

Then we made our way to Hythe and finally arrived in the evening at our usual apartment on the seafront, where we are staying for a week. It's good to be back. The weather throughout the day has been warm and sunny, hopefully we will get a little more of the same. Although we have no great plans and won’t see much more of the family as they are all at school, just being somewhere different and by the sea is enough.
