Barbara Hepworth
The sun shone from mid morning and we wandered over to the Barbara Hepworth museum on our timed tickets. It could not have been more glorious. Fascinating to see her work in her relatively small garden exactly where she’d placed it. The plants were also architectural but not in that soulless way, just strong shapes and colours. Also her workshop with old jars of Maxwell house, the summerhouse in the garden with its single bed with a white candlewick bedspread...so evocative of a home that was a studio that has become a museum.
After minds blown by Barbara we walked around the town between the two beaches before relaxed dinner in the hotel.
