The cicadas will only be around for a few more weeks, so I grabbed another shot of one today.  It is quite amazing to live through this phenomenon.  Right now, the noise is incredible and at any given time when looking out the window, I can see dozens of them flying.  Their navigation and flying skills are poor so it is hard to avoid being hit by them when walking outdoors.  

This morning I used the hose to wash the dead carcasses off the deck only to look out this afternoon and see at least a dozen new ones.  The good news is that all those dead carcasses will provide lots of nitrogen for the soil and the garden will reap the benefit.
