Walking a new path

One the local paths I have been going to walk for many years but have always chosen shorter or longer routes.

We walked the top of Cown Edge North to South  with Skylarks and Meadow Pipits singing in every few steps.

The horses in the Extra photo were very pleased to see us and we soon found out why. Someone must be feeding them, this one was trying to open my rucksack as I walked but in quite a friendly way.

There were some good butterflies around including a rare one , the Wall Butterfly is not one we see very often ( Extra photo) and also a dazzling Brimstone whizzed by.

Birds included Whitethroat, Tree Pipit, Stonechat, Wheatear and even a Little Owl
