Cow Lane

This now leads onto the road running alongside one of the marinas but years ago it went through a tunnel to the sea. As the name Implies it was where cattle were brought ashore. The market and abatoir were more or less where I am standing to take the pic; right outside the Town Church.  However often cattle weren’t immediately slaughtered but were led up the hill and put to grass for two or three months to fatten up after their sea journey.
