A trip to the theatre!

This evening we had a real treat as we went to see a live show at the Theatre Royal, Winchester. It was a new musical called "Dark and Bright", written especially for the Encore Youth Theatre group by the company's adult directors  in collaboration with the young actors. The last live  theatre we had seen was way back  in February 2020 when we saw Encore's  excellent production  of "Hot Mikado" . This year they are celebrating  40 successful years in existence, which means that the  children  of some of the early  performers are now in the company. 
"Dark and  Bright" gave a powerful voice to young people living through  the challenges of recent times, and addressed many of the issues they face, but in a positive, life -affirming  way, and we came away feeling uplifted.  The performance  was brilliantly executed and,  as always, we marvelled at the  amazing talent of the young cast (aged 12 -18).
