…………………Blue Fungi of NZ
Today I discovered this elusive blue fungi - in the Abel Tasman National Park. There were only two, one either side of a tree trunk. I’m so happy to have photos of this delicate wee fungi - and to have actually seen them!
Evidently this species can vary from very bright blue to dull blue to almost grey in colour. It stands about 8cm high and lives in New Zealand’s native forests.
The blue Entoloma is depicted on the New Zealand $50.00 banknote.
Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s estuary scene celebrating the first day of winter.
