Lovely lovely weekend visiting EllieS - if that hyperlinking works I'll be well impressed as I couldn't even figure out how to subscribe to her journal without her giving me a blip tutorial at the weekend.

We had a very successful outing to South Queensferry where I got to see the Forth Rail Bridge up close for the first time. It was much anticipated after our outing there in Jan 2012 was thwarted by bus failures. That time Edinburgh had been plagued by high winds, this weekend there were hail storms and all-round freezing conditions - didn't stop us going for a walk on the beach tho!

I really loved seeing the bridge in all its' stark, crisp glory. Was surprised & saddened by the long list of names on the memorial to people who died during its' construction. A feat of engineering but at a cost to so many. Bridge constructors of the world, I salute you.
