Having decided 48 hours ago that my new life challenge was to see "all the bridges in the world" it was very fortuitous that I found myself at Salford Quays with the sun shining onto this little beauty.

My bridge education is in it's very early days so I don't know what the proper technical name is but I do know that the main section can lift up and down to let ships through - not only a pretty bridge but a functional one too :)

I was on a ticket-without-booking-fee buying mission for my parents. A welcome study-break given that my motivation for essay writing is at an all time low, that's what 8 weeks of real work then a weekend away does for one's opinion of essays!
