Wild rose

Had to spend the morning in phone calls/meetings, so missed the best of the sunshine. It clouded over while I was at the allotment and by the evening the haar was in. What was that about a heatwave?

The wild rose seems to have almost completely smothered the forsythia bush - the latter is now just providing a sort of trellis arrangement for the rose and providing me with a lot of twiggy sticks that the young peas are finding useful for support. And for aquilegia fans, after my complaints about only having pale pink ones I find a purple one has erupted by the shed!

Spoke with D, who was looking forward to an extremely quiet weekend in Hull and lots of sleep after an intense week of skeletons.
