Sutherland

The forecast was for a good day so we decided to go up Ben Hope. We stayed with friends near Inverness and drove up in the morning. We parked at the bottom with far more people than I expected; talking later we realised that it’s close to the North Coast 500 and people must go up as it’s nearby. We walked into the cloud at around 600 metres and had lunch before going to the top which was just out of the cloud, but no views. The extra is from the top looking the way we had come. As I want to see the view from the top we spent an hour as it was quite warm, but to no avail. We eventually started down and stopped at the wee top beyond the people in the extra and amazingly we could see the glen so walked back to the summit and the cloud lifted. The blip is the view looking towards Ben Loyal and wee tops on Ben Hope. In the end a successful trip, but not the sparkly weather that was the forecast; 2 left.

Best on black.
