Starlings

A day in the garden has seen most of the larger weeds eradicated, some crocus bulbs dug up, snapdragons planted out and the flowering currant finally pruned. Some general tidying up and thinning of lettuce in the veg bed completed the task for today and I feel quite satisfied with the progress. 
Still some more jobs to do over the weekend, but we are doing OK I think. 

These starlings were enjoying the bird bath after being kicked off the feeder by the pigeons!  Since we did the weekly shopping today we were hoping to go for a walk in search of dragonflies or butterflies tomorrow, but the weather is not looking too clever. It might have to wait a few days more, or maybe the butterflies will visit our garden over the weekend?!
