Grayson's Art Club
A grand day out in Manchester, visiting the Grayson's Art Club exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery. This is based on a TV show in which the hugely talented and entertaining artist, Grayson Perry, invited a range of artists, celebrities, art students, keen amateurs and complete novices to submit works during 2020. The themes of the show include highly topical subjects and timeless themes. As always, I enjoyed watching the people looking at the art (or ignoring it completely.)
Later we had lunch at The Ivy - our first meal "out" in 2021 - and then went to the Northern Quarter to wander around and see the way that vibrant neighbourhood has changed, to see the people there and enjoy the street art and graffiti. We also went to another exhibition, of which I do have not photographs, at The Modernist, which featured in the Observer last weekend. So good that I bought a print of a painting of Forton Sevices, near Lancaster.
