Nicky and her Nikon

By NickyR

Not a sunny day!

The forecast today was for sunshine, and this is what we got - we had so much rain yesterday that there are large puddles everywhere and it is back to muddy walks and having to wash Xena after her walks as she gets splattered with mud. This must be the worst spring ever, I wonder when we will get decent weather and if we will even get a summer?

Last night we had our last camera club meeting, which was our AGM and a themed competition of 'mood'. I think there is a distinction between 'mood' and 'emotion' but the judge failed to see that as some images were not at all moody but did well. It was so depressing to hear that next season - from September onwards - we will probably have to continue meeting via zoom as we cannot use the hall we usually use as during the day it is used by elderly people, so the risk of contamination is too high. What's the point of the vaccines then? I cannot believe that we are going to have to continue living like this into the autumn, wearing masks and socially distancing, its all a bit much now. I doubt anything will change with the next government announcement due to the Indian variant, and while the world is still full of idiots who are not sensible about the virus it won't improve - idiots like the Indian couple who had their wedding midair in a private plane to avoid the Covid restrictions. What were they thinking?!

Tonight I have our monthly camera group zoom meeting - I really want to watch that photography program on BBC4 so if I am not too tired I will watch it after our meeting later tonight.
