Woodland walk
What weather today! Sunshine, followed by heavy rain, then sunshine and so it went all day. I walked Xena in the woods this morning where we enjoyed sunshine but it was very wet and muddy underfoot - it was back to wearing wellies again and very necessary that was as it was very boggy in some areas. On our way back from the woods we were caught in a downpour - I had a rain jacket and an umbrella but poor Xena hates the rain and kept trying to shelter under the hedges as we walked past.
I love the fresh green of the new leaves in spring, as can be seen here. Someone commented on my journal yesterday that they don't like the colour green, well at this time of year you cannot escape the green in the woods.
It was a quiet day at home catching up on chores, with the rain there was no pint going out again. Tonight it is our last (zoom) camera club meeting of the year, we have our exhibition next month and that is the end of this season's program. I only joined in September and I have really enjoyed it, I am pleased I finally decided to join a camera club after deliberating about it for so many years.
Gavin has his second AstraZeneca vaccine today and feels fine so far. Apparently with the second AZ vaccine you generally do feel better than after the first one, but not so with the Pfizer vaccine - I am sure everyone is different but this is what I read in a report by a doctor.
I must now go make supper but I am tempted to quickly finish my book, I have a few pages left and I have enjoyed it so much - The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd, a novel about the imagined wife of Jesus and it is fascinating how the author has woven in the historical facts with her story and told it from the woman's point of view.
