Molly coddled ... ?

It began with fluorescent numbers on all six groyne markers along Portobello’s beach. The numbers were to assist the speed of rescue of anyone in difficulty in the sea. It has now spread to these large numbers on the sea wall adding an additional reminder of which number of groyne you are nearest if reporting an incident. It does seem to be a good example of how we are all being molly coddled - possibly unnecessarily?

(Some of you may already be aware of the location app What/3/Words. It can pinpoint your location to a 3 metre square anywhere in the world! It is being used increasingly by, for example, emergency services and event organisers at large music festivals. No more chance of losing your tent at Glastonbury!

Needless to report it was another chilly rainy May Day.

A good editorial meeting this evening for our community newspaper. The summer edition is almost ready.
