Marton Church in Cheshire is one of the oldest timber framed churches in Europe and built in 1343 with the square shaped belfry added about 1540.  We passed it on the way home today after driving along little lanes lined with cow parsley and bluebells before the main A roads and motorways and fortunately managed to get home just before it started to rain heavily.
