Good news

Today the last of the Covid cases in the village got the all clear. At one point there were 34 active cases in a population of 2,500.

In his daily WhatsApp post the mayor said:

Today, after many weeks, our municipality is back covid free with zero cases. I have tried as much as possible to be close to the families involved in the quarantines and I thank all the citizens affected by the covid infection for the sense of responsibility they have always shown.

We hope that the near future, with summer just around the corner, will be more peaceful and will also give us moments to move freely

A slightly awkward machine translation but I hope it conveys something of the trial this has been and a guarded sense of optimism for the future.
