The Rain Returns
After the confirmed driest (coldest) April on record, we are surely having one of the wettest Mays.
JD took Jorgie for 11miles first thing this morning and avoided the worst of the weather.
At the last CC committee meeting it was decided to run a few 'summer' trips out, the first being a visit to bluebells

on the southern side of the moor. Yours truly volunteered to organise it.
I've already postponed it once due to lack of flowers.(the blooms are so late this year) and tomorrow was the reviewed date.
So after a disappointing Sunday lunch in a moorland hotel, we headed over to Holwell Lawn where the hillsides are usually bright blue at this time of year. Luckily we could assess the terrain from the sanctuary of the car and, although the flowers are blooming, the ground is now so wet, any photography would be very unpleasant. It didn't take long to decide to postpone again .
I took this image of the wild ponies trying to shelter as best they could in the downpour. Large is better with this one
