A day of two halves.
This morning was spent in Thirsk.
Quite busy with a nice atmosphere as it was market day.
Apart from masks it almost felt normal.
Especially as we enjoyed our usual morning coffee at The Golden Fleece.
Then a bit of shopping, which included fresh local asparagus, which we have enjoyed as a starter for our evening meal.
After lunch, back at the caravan, we drove to Northallerton where it was also market day.
Because of Covid they have closed the town centre on Market Day which made it much better for walking around the stalls.
This is a large market and even included a French cheese stall.
I had a list of things I wanted from Lakeland.
Then bought 2 cauliflowers for £1.00 which was certainly good value.
Looked in a few other shops before finishing in the most wonderful food shop, Lewis and Cooper. The Harrods of the North.
Bought some Italian pasta and sauce, and also a couple of bottles of our favourite South African wine.
Will certainly be back for a better look round next time.
So the top two photos were taken this morning in Thirsk. The river was running high because of all the rain.
The bottom two, taken in Northallerton.
Lovely to hear live music from the jazz quartet. You can tell although fine it was cold.
A window display in Bakers. A lovely very old family run department store. Hope we get some picnic weather soon!
The sun is out now, and will hopefully be a beautiful sunset.
We will be in the look out for the otter again!
Thank you very much for all your stars and hearts. Internet is just rubbish.
Hope this uploads. It took me 4 attempts yesterday.
